It's the end....YAY!
The greatest thing about this year was going to the state track meet. One of the hardest things I've accomplished this year was getting there! We had long hours and extremely hard practices and we were the 'underdogs' all year, and we improved our time by 20 seconds. This summer, I plan on taking (dumb) college classes, like speech! :/. Also, I will be playing summer basketball and hanging out with friends!

She has the possibility of facing life in prison with out parol. Sandra was a friend and playmate of Huckaby's daughter. Huckaby was also a Sunday school teacher in the town.

returned?!!?
I think this woman was being very irresponsible. If the boy was truly having these problems, she should have sought out for some professional help. She should not have just ran away from the situation. If she was willing to take on the responsibility of taking in a child that was not hers, she should have treated him like he was her own. There is no easy way out for REAL parents. And I think adopting a child makes you basically a 'real' parent, and she should have no 'easy way out' just like any other parent.

whoa!
Reporter: "Tell me how this happened? How did you get trapped in your car? What were you doing during this terrifying event?"
Me: "I was driving along the highway, and the truck was pulling on to the highway. I thought he saw me, so I figured he was going to stop. Well apparently this wasn't the case, the trucker just continued on its way has i passed right in front of it. It hit me directly in the side, when this happened I was so in shock; I froze. Once I realized that he didn't even know he was hitting me, I started screaming and honking my horn until he noticed."
Reporter:"When did you finally realize that you were pushing the car down the highway?" What was your reaction?"
Me:"I finally realized it when cars started moving out of the way; also the car that i was hitting was honking their horn without ceasing. When I looked down and realized what happened, my heart started pounding, and i stopped immediately. I was so terrified I'd hurt whoever was in the car; also I felt so stupid...How did I not realize what was going on earlier?!"

STOP.

A stop sign is a traffic sign, usually erected at road junctions such as a four-way intersection, that instructs drivers to stop and then to proceed only if the way ahead is clear. The idea of placing stop signs at road junctions was first conceived in 1890 when William Phelps Eno of Saugatuck, Connecticut proposed and devised the first set of traffic laws in an article published in Rider and Driver. However, the first use of stop signs did not appear until 1915 when officials in Detroit, Michigan installed a stop sign with black letters on a white background. Throughout the years and with many alterations made to the stop sign, the current version with white block-lettering on a red background that is used in the United States as well as emulated in many other countries around the world today, did not come into use until the Joint Committee on Uniform Traffic Control Devices adopted the design in 1954

TAKS=dumb test.
Dear State,
I would like to give you all an idea about what the kids that actually have to take this test feel about it. And I would hope that you all would take it in consideration, and make a few changes. First of all, it's extremely stressful, for all the students and also the teachers! If it wasn't so long and so hard it wouldn't be so bad. The hard part is definitely the essay, and short answers. Maybe if we only had to do one story, one visual, and one or two short answer, we wouldn't dread it so much. Please think about these changes, we would greatly appreciate it!
Thanks,
Stressed-out student

KILLER whale...
I really want to say just release the whale back into the wild. He's already been involved in three deaths!! It's obviously just the whales nature, I'm sure he meant no harm to those people. However, it seems it would cost too much to send him back into the wild. Therefore, instead of keeping him, I say they should just 'put him to rest'.

COM'ON!! It's not going to kill you...
Well even though I feel like everyone is going to disagree with me, I'm going to be completely honest. This isn't a terrible thing he is doing. He's teaching kids the importance of education and responsibility at a young age, which could and will most likely be very beneficial for them in the future. I do kind of wish I knew what the kids thought about this. Because we can't say that this is bad for them or we feel sorry for them. What if they enjoy this? It's basically all they have known. I do wish my mom would've been more strict about this stuff for me, like; no T.V. until you are done with your homework; or to read more instead of watching T.V. So that now I wouldn't put my homework off, or dread reading for a school assignment, or watch something on T.V. because I think it is 'more important' than a project or homework I have to do. I mean we are busy enough as it is, we don't have much time for T.V. anyways, and if you do, then there is probably something else that's more important that needs to be done. Sure you can learn some stuff from T.V., but I'm sure reading books and focusing on your school work is better...

MUSIC*
1. What is your favorite song?
2. What is your least favorite song?
3. In your opinion, what is the cheesiest (yes, I am using that as a REAL word, and it has nothing to do with cheese) song of all time? (You might have to check with your parents on this one! There were a plethora of cheesy songs in the 80's.)
4. What song lyrics have you belted out incorrectly? Tell me how you sang them! (If you don't want to admit your blunder, you can tell me what have heard others sing wrong.) If you know more than one, you can post them!
5. What song and/or artist do you think is WAY overrated?
-It's kind of hard to say what my favorite song is because it basically changes from week to week. But I guess a song that I always listen to and never get tired of is, 'A Whole New World' from Aladdin.
2. What is your least favorite song?
-'I still like bologna' by Alan Jackson.
3. In your opinion, what is the cheesiest (yes, I am using that as a REAL word, and it has nothing to do with cheese) song of all time? (You might have to check with your parents on this one! There were a plethora of cheesy songs in the 80's.)
-'A Thousand Miles' by Vanessa Carlton. (Most people know this song as 'see you tonight' from the movie White Chicks.)
4. What song lyrics have you belted out incorrectly? Tell me how you sang them! (If you don't want to admit your blunder, you can tell me what have heard others sing wrong.) If you know more than one, you can post them!
-The Star-Spangled Banner'....'Whose BOLD stripes and bright stars, thru the perilous SIGHT.'
5. What song and/or artist do you think is WAY overrated?
-Miley Cyrus or Lady GaGa

BHM(:
Two people that should be celebrated for Black History Month are Barack Obama and his wife Michelle Obama. On January 20, 2009, President Obama was inaugurated, making him the first African-American President, also making Michelle the first African-American First Lady in U.S. history.

Also, two other people should be Venus and Serena Williams, who became the first African-American world doubles tennis champions on September 14, 2009.

this weekend....
Between the freezing weather, and the icy roads, there really was not much to do over this boring weekend. However, once the roads started to clear up, I had plenty of fun sledding, knee boarding....etc. One other thing I did over the four day weekend was 'ice skate' at the baseball field. It was fun for the most part, until I ended up falling flat on my face! Nearly crying like a child, I still managed to get up and keep ice skating. Other than that, I was stuck at home watching scary movies and drinking scrumptious hot chocolate! :)

fame.....or shame!?
I think they should just put McGwire in the Hall of Fame. Mainly because about 50% percent of the pitchers he faced were also on steroids or taking human growth hormones. Also he was still a very good baseball player before steroids. And he said that he used the steroids for medical reasons, not to enhance his performance.

improvements....
One thing that we could do to improve our town is holding regular town revivals. This would improve our town spiritually, which will bring us closer as a community and improve it in many ways. Also improving our Emergency Care Service, so that if there was an accident or something to happen we would know that adequate care would be provided. Lastly, better or more popular restaurants, or other attractions like at least a Wal Mart so that more people will come here or live here.

:)Happy New Years!
New Years resolutions are very common at this time. I think that is because, many people feel that they should change when the year changes. Seeing that the new year is like a time to start over, or a fresh start. In my opinion some of the most common resolutions are to stop smoking or to lose weight. Many people choose these because they want a healthier lifestyle and to feel better about themselves. I believe the main reason most people do not stick to these is because they are so dedicated at first, then they realize how much hard work it actually takes and end up not having the will power to get through it. My three New Year resolutions are to become a better Christian, a better and more dedicated athlete, and to be more disciplined. Becoming a better Christian is the most important to me, I plan on doing this by continuing to attend church every time we have services. Also, by studying and reading my Bible more, followed by obeying and doing what The Word says. If I continue to be a better Christian then it will help me in everything I do. Being more disciplined is also very important to me. I plan on doing this by doing my homework on time and not putting things off, and doing what my parents tell me when they tell me...etc. If I do all of these things, it will all benefit me on the basketball court. If I do the right thing ALL the time and be more disciplined, I will make better decisions in life and on the basketball court. Which I need to be a better athlete all around.
